Welcome to Pod Rancher! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Pod Rancher mobile application and website operated by Pod Rancher LLC.
By accessing or using Pod Rancher, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Description of Service
Pod Rancher is a mobile application designed to help isopod hobbyists and breeders:
- Track and manage their isopod collections ("bins")
- Log care activities (misting, feeding, substrate changes, etc.)
- Access species information and care guides
- Set reminders for care tasks
- Document their collections with photos and notes
Eligibility
Age Requirements
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
- If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian
- Parents/guardians are responsible for their minor children's use of the Service
Account Responsibility
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account
- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
Subscription Plans and Payments
Free Tier (Explorer)
- Limited features as described in the app
- No payment required
- May be subject to usage limits
Paid Tiers (Collector, Rancher)
- Access to premium features as described at time of purchase
- Billed monthly or annually through your app store
- Prices are in US dollars unless otherwise indicated
Automatic Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Manage your subscription through your device's app store settings.
Refunds
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google per their respective policies. We do not process refunds directly. Contact your app store for refund requests.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use Pod Rancher only for lawful purposes. You agree NOT to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful code
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service
- Reverse engineer or decompile the app
- Upload content that infringes intellectual property rights
User Content
Your Content
You retain ownership of content you create, upload, or share through Pod Rancher, including photos, notes, care logs, and observations.
License to Us
By uploading content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store and display your content to provide the Service. This license ends when you delete your content or account.
Content Restrictions
You are solely responsible for your content. You agree not to upload content that you do not have the right to share, that infringes on others' intellectual property, or that is illegal or harmful.
Intellectual Property
Pod Rancher and its contents, features, and functionality are owned by Pod Rancher LLC and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. This includes:
- The Pod Rancher name, logo, and branding
- App design, code, and user interface
- Species database and care information
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to download and use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.
Species Information Disclaimer
Not Professional Advice: Pod Rancher provides species information and care guides for educational purposes only. This is not a substitute for professional veterinary or scientific advice. We do not guarantee the accuracy of species information. You are responsible for the care of your animals.
Disclaimers
POD RANCHER IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. While we take precautions to protect your data, we are not responsible for any loss of data.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR $100 USD.
WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL.
Dispute Resolution
Informal Resolution
Before filing any formal dispute, you agree to contact us at hello@podrancher.com to attempt to resolve the issue informally within 30 days.
Arbitration Agreement
If informal resolution fails, you agree that any dispute will be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court, except for small claims court actions or injunctive relief for intellectual property infringement.
Class Action Waiver: You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
Termination
By You
You may stop using Pod Rancher at any time. To delete your account, use the account deletion option in Settings or contact us at support@podrancher.com.
By Us
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent or illegal activity, or create risk or legal exposure for us.
Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. We may delete your data subject to our Privacy Policy.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms and update the date. For material changes, we will provide notice via email or in-app notification. Your continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and us
- Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right does not waive that right
- Severability: If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect
- Assignment: You may not assign these Terms; we may assign without restriction
